Surf ES relies on proxy servers to allow users to browse the web anonymously. A proxy server acts as an intermediary between the user and the website he is visiting, it creates a layer of isolation and hides the user identity (the internet website only sees the proxy, not the user behind it).
The main benefit is the user privacy that we can guarantee by hiding IP addresses but using this service can also help to bypass restrictions that may be applied on a specific computer or network like parental control and geolocation based checks.
We are still in beta phase and during that time we have decided to add a few limitations to manage the service workload, which is why the number of concurrent users has been limited as well as the range of websites reachable. These limitations will be lowered during the coming weeks and completely removed for the launch.
